CRM and marketing

Your guests, by heart.

Every guest with their own file: visits, allergies, birthday and what they usually order. The POS shows it above their bill, the kitchen sees their allergies before the dishes, and your email campaigns reach the guests who haven't been back in a while.

How it works

Three steps and the CRM fills itself.

Nothing extra to set up and no files to type by hand: the CRM lives in the same system that takes payments and bookings and sends orders to the kitchen.

  1. Link the guest

On the POS, «Link customer» on their ticket: find them by name or phone, or create them with their phone number if they are new. Bookings with a phone number count too: the guest file is created when you mark them as arrived.

  2. Their file fills itself

Their visits and spend add up from what they pay and the bookings they turn up for. Their usual dishes come from what they order, and their VIP tier is recalculated every 6 hours.

  3. Your team uses it in service

Their card on the POS, their allergies in the kitchen, the pre-shift briefing and email campaigns for the guests who want them.

On the POS

Recognise every guest from their ticket.

Link the guest to their ticket and their card appears above the lines, for the waiter serving them today even if they have never met. No spend figures: just what you need to look after them.

Their allergies come first

Link the guest and their allergies go straight into the ticket's red band, and on to the kitchen. If the ticket lacks them, their card shows them in red under their name.

Their birthday, this week

«Cumple hoy», «Cumple mañana» or «Cumple el sábado» (today, tomorrow, on Saturday), counted by the venue's date.

Their usual, in one tap

Their three most-ordered dishes, with how many times they had each. One tap adds one to the ticket.

Their VIP tier

Silver, Gold or Platinum, there for the whole team without anyone having to remember.

What your team knows

Their notes, diet and tags: what lives in your manager's head today, there for the whole shift.

How often they come

Their visits and when the last one was. If they have none yet, the card says «Primera visita» (first visit).

Allergies first

Noted once. In the kitchen, every time.

A ticket's allergies are marked on the POS or come straight from the guest's file. From then on they print first on every kitchen ticket and head the order on the kitchen display.

  1. On the POS

A red band above the ticket lines. «+ Allergies» opens the 14 allergens in one tap, or you type your own.

  2. On every kitchen ticket

At the very top, before any note and before the dishes: «!! ALERGIAS !!» («!! ALLERGIES !!» for an English-speaking kitchen) in double size, between two rows of exclamation marks. Reprints too.

  3. On the kitchen display

The order card starts with them, in red, before the dishes.

Birthdays and celebrations

You know who's celebrating today.

The day's briefing, on the POS bookings desk, sums up what the team needs to know. And when a booking that matters arrives, every POS in the venue gets the alert.

The briefing on the POS bookings desk, in Spanish. Example bookings.

The day's briefing

  • VIPs: guests from Silver up, with their tier and visits.
  • Allergies: the booking's and the ones in their file, together.
  • Celebrations: birthdays and anniversaries from the booking, plus this week's birthdays from their file.
  • First visits and no-show risk: who is coming for the first time and who has missed a booking before, so you can confirm.
The arrival alert: when you mark a VIP booking, one with allergies or one with a birthday that week as arrived, it pops up on every POS in the venue.
VIP tiers

Silver, Gold and Platinum. Earned automatically.

You decide how many visits or how much spend each tier needs: reaching either one is enough. Mesero recalculates tiers every 6 hours, or on the spot from the CRM.

  1. Silver3 visitsor €100 spend
  2. Gold10 visitsor €500 spend
  3. Platinum25 visitsor €2,000 spend

The thresholds every venue starts with; change them in the CRM's VIP tab. The tier shows on the POS guest card, in the briefing and in the arrival alert.

Email campaigns

Campaigns that fill tables again.

Emails in your own words, only for guests who agreed to receive them. Choose the type, the audience and the message: automatic campaigns are checked every hour and go out by themselves to whoever is due; announcements, when you send them.

Win-back

«We miss you»

For guests who have been at least twice and haven't been back for the number of days you choose.

Birthday

Happy birthday, on time

On their birthday, or as many days before as you choose, using the date in their file.

Post-visit

Thanks for coming

The hours you choose after their visit: to say thank you or ask for their feedback.

Welcome

Their first visit

For guests who just came for the first time, within the hours you set.

Announcement

Your news

A new menu or an event. You send it whenever you like, to everyone or to a segment.

Segments

The exact audience

By visits, spend, days since their last visit, tags or churn risk, with a count of how many guests it includes.

Rules that look after your guests

  • Only guests with the «Marketing emails» consent in their file, checked again just before sending.
  • Every email carries an unsubscribe link; if it can't be added, the email isn't sent.
  • A cooldown per campaign, 90 days unless you change it: the same campaign won't write to the same guest again within it.
  • The preview shows who each campaign would reach, and you pause or resume it in one tap.

Your message, with their name

  • Placeholders such as {name}, {visits} or {days_absent} add their name, their visits or the days since they last came.
  • At the bottom, your restaurant's name and the unsubscribe link.
  • Analytics: sent, failed and success rate, per campaign and per day.
Privacy and GDPR

GDPR, built into the CRM.

Consents in every guest file, one-click unsubscribe, export and deletion from the file. And each guest's figures, only for the people allowed to see them.

Privacy

  • Consents for each guest in their file; every change is recorded.
  • «Download data (GDPR)»: their file, consents, tickets, bookings and reviews in one file, to answer an access request.
  • «GDPR: Delete»: deletes their data and message history; their tickets and invoices stay, without their personal data.
  • Only the owner or an admin can export or delete. Only owners, admins and managers can open the CRM in the back office, and spend and average ticket need the «See takings» permission.

A clean guest list

  • Duplicates: Mesero suggests files that look like the same person, by name or by phone number, and you merge them without losing their tickets, consents or history.
  • «Import CSV»: bring your guests from another system with their phone, name, email, allergies, preferences, tags, notes and birthday. Importing again updates them.
  • «Download CSV»: all your guests in a spreadsheet, whenever you want.
  • Your guests are yours: their data stays in your back office, not on a third-party platform.
Price

The CRM is in Pro and Enterprise.

It comes with the plan, together with email campaigns, bookings and the customer club: it is not an add-on.

Pro — €79/month

€59 billed annually. CRM and campaigns, bookings, customer club, online ordering and kiosk.

Enterprise — from €149/month

€119 billed annually. Everything in Pro, for several venues with central visibility.

Barra and Starter

They don't include the CRM. Try Mesero free for 90 days, no card needed and with full access.

FAQ

Before you link your first guest.

Do I have to add my guests by hand?
No. A guest file is created when you link a new guest to their ticket by phone number, or when you mark a booking with a phone number as arrived. Their visits and spend add up by themselves. If you already have a list, import it from a CSV file.
Can the waiter see how much a guest spends?
No. The guest card on the POS shows their visits, tier, allergies, birthday, staff notes and usual dishes, with no money. Spend and average ticket live in the CRM in the back office, which only owners, admins and managers can open, and only with the «See takings» permission.
How do allergies reach the kitchen?
When you link a guest, the allergies in their file are added to the ticket's allergies; you can also mark them by hand on the POS. From then on they print first on every kitchen ticket and head the order on the kitchen display, so mark them before sending the dishes.
Who receives the campaigns?
Only guests with an email address and the «Marketing emails» consent ticked in their file. It is checked again just before sending, and every email carries an unsubscribe link.
When does a guest move up a VIP tier?
When they reach the visits or the spend you set for Silver, Gold or Platinum: either one is enough. Mesero recalculates tiers every 6 hours, and you can recalculate them on the spot from the CRM.
What if a guest asks us to delete their data?
The owner or an admin presses «GDPR: Delete» in their file: their data, consents and message history are deleted, and their tickets and invoices stay without their personal data. If they ask for a copy first, «Download data (GDPR)» gives it to them as a file.
Which plan includes the CRM?
Pro (€79/month, or €59 billed annually) and Enterprise (from €149/month), with email campaigns included. You can try it free for 90 days, no card needed.
